Construction Company in Nicaragua: Built for the Foreign Buyer Market

A Construction Company That Knows Both Sides of the Process

Nicaragua Construction was founded by Marcus Webb and Roberto Mendoza. Marcus spent 20 years running a general contracting business in Austin, Texas, before relocating to Nicaragua in 2010, where he built his own home in Tola before starting the company. Roberto is a Nicaraguan civil engineer with 25 years of on-the-ground project experience across the country.

The company exists because Marcus went through the foreign buyer experience himself. He navigated permits without knowing the system, sourced materials without an established supplier network, and managed quality control without a local track record. He built the company he wished had existed when he was doing it.

Every project we take on is for a foreign buyer. Residential or commercial. That has been the focus since day one.

What We Build

Custom homes for private buyers

For expats, retirees, and foreign buyers who own land in Nicaragua and want a home built to their own design. We manage the full scope: architectural coordination, permits, construction, finishing, and handover. Clients are based in the US, Canada, and Europe. The process is designed for that distance.

Commercial properties for investors

Hotels, guesthouses, short-term rental complexes, retail units, restaurants, and business premises. For buyers building income-generating assets, not private residences. Project management, permit handling, and on-site oversight are included throughout.

Built for Clients Who Are Not Living Next to the Job Site

The most common concern among foreign buyers is not the build itself. It is what happens on-site when they are not there to see it.

Every project has one point of contact: Marcus. Not a rotating team, not someone different once construction starts. He is the person you call, the person who sends your reports, and the person who flags a problem before it becomes a change order.

Progress reports go out on a defined schedule, with photographs of each completed stage and a plain summary of what comes next. On-site supervision is daily. For clients who want to see the site without flying down, we run video walkthroughs at key milestones.

The process does not require you to be in Nicaragua to stay informed. It requires us to communicate well. That is the job.

The Team

Marcus Webb

Co-Founder

Marcus ran a mid-size general contracting business in Texas for 20 years, specializing in custom residential and light commercial work. He relocated to Nicaragua in 2010, built his own home in Tola, and founded Nicaragua Construction after experiencing firsthand what it takes to navigate a foreign build as a private buyer. His role covers client relationships, project oversight, and everything that connects the two.

Roberto Mendoza

Co-Founder

Roberto is a Nicaraguan civil engineer with 25 years of local project experience. He manages on-site execution, supplier and subcontractor relationships, and the municipal permit processes that vary across regions. His knowledge of local construction logistics, materials supply chains, and labor management is the operational backbone of every project the company runs.
